The Department of Immunochemistry and Glycobiology primarily deals with the analysis of extracellular vesicles of seminal plasma (prostasomes). The focus is on the composition and distribution of N-glycans and markers of extracellular vesicles in order to determine the unique glycan signature of the prostasome as a new reference marker.
Also, part of the research refers to the analysis of the expression of exosomal microRNA involved in glycome regulation, in people with primary and secondary liver cancer with the aim of their further application in the diagnosis and prognosis of liver cancer.
